The points were shared as nothing separated Tadcaster Albion and Hebburn Town.

Jack Donaghy’s scintillating strike was ruled out early in the second half by Tadcaster.

Hebburn started the game well as Donaghy headed Will McCamley’s set-piece low into Harry Fisk’s grasp.

Sean Reid then nodded Olly Martin’s cross over on 10 minutes after some trickery down the left flank.

Mark Ferguson launched a long throw into the Hebburn area three minutes later, and Shaun Newbrook blocked Jack Johnson’s effort on the goal line.

The Hornets had a massive opportunity with 22 on the clock as Robbie Spence’s cross was deflected into the path of Reid, whose six-yard header proved too weak to challenge Fisk.

Tadcaster had another chance cleared off the line on 27 minutes, as Ferguson’s powerful volley was denied by a leaping Joe Walton.

A mixup between Donaghy and Spence sent Jack Carr through for the hosts, but Shaun Newbrook excellently met his strike.

Donaghy broke the deadlock on 36 minutes as Walton’s deep free-kick fell for the defender at the back post, who volleyed past Fisk at a tight angle.

Centre-back Donaghy nearly got a second after Tom Devitt headed down Martin’s corner, but this time he fired too high.

The action continued going into the break as McCamley skilled past his man and slid a cross in, which Reid hit straight at Fisk from point-blank range.

In added time, Jordan Deacey’s cross was met by Carr and it looked like an equaliser, but Reid stuck his body on the line to give Hebburn another lifeline.

The Brewers got their goal on the 52 mark, when the dangerous Carr scrambled home a cross following Jack Crook’s initial header.

Chances were largely at a premium for the following stages, until Amar Purewal blazed McCamley’s cross over.

On 65 minutes, a replica of Tadcaster’s goal saw Ferguson whip a ball in but this time the chance didn’t fall on target.

McCamley then had great openings as Purewal flicked him through one-on-one, but Steve Smith recovered in time for a last ditch challenge.

The resulting throw-in allowed McCamley to drive up to the byline, but Fisk clawed away his cross before Hebburn could pounce.

Carr chipped a shot wide of Newbrook’s goal on 80 minutes, before the referee called time on the 1-1 draw.
