Just a week after the 1st team suffered the first defeat of the season, against Guisborough, the U18s played their opening game of the season away to Guisborough Town. Hebburn were a depleted squad and called upon 15 year old Matty Robinson to help them out.
The game started fairly even and for the first 20 there was nothing between the sides. Hebburn then showed how they normally play some lovely football and a good few passes when Jordan Stephenson played a 1-2 and smashed the 1st goal in the net.
Hebburn then took control of game and lead 3-0 at halftime but in all honesty could and should have been 4 or 5.
The 2nd half was a mirror of the 1st half whereby Guisborough started fairly well but Hebburn took control and scored another 3...again missing more chances.
Liam Murray did not have his shooted boots on today but he got the first 4 assists for Hebburn.
Next game is a big task away to New Hartley.
