Hebburn Town 2-3 Tadcaster Albion

Josh Youll26 Mar 2022 - 19:31

Hebburn Town's perfect March was interrupted following a slow performance.

A big call from referee Mark Ryan gave relegation-threatened Tadcaster Albion a 3-2 victory on South Tyneside.

Hebburn started brightly in front of 600 on Non-League Day as Amar Purewal nearly got on the end of Michael Richardson's cross however Kieran Burton stretched out first.

Tom Potter also saw a glimpse of goal early from a corner, but he couldn't slot home Dan Groves' pass.

Donald Chimalilo played in Kesi Omolokun with nine on the clock, and despite the shot taking a nick off Jack Donaghy, Mark Foden kept The Brewers' first opportunity out.

The Tadcaster pair linked up again on 21 minutes, with right-back Omolokun sneaking in the opener calmly for the visitors.

Seven minutes later, Hebburn’s afternoon became tougher as Mark Ferguson latched onto Jack Carr’s lofted ball and finished easily one-on-one.

Chimalilo could’ve added a third on 37 after Danny Carson’s headed mistake but Foden saved well at the front post.

As half-time loomed, Richardson pulled one back for The Hornets as a free-kick from 20-yards wasn’t dealt with and bounced in.

Potter came close to equalising 10 minutes into the second period with a first-time curler, only for Harry Fisk to pull off an exceptional stop.

At the other end, Jack Carr drove down the left and looked to squeeze an effort in, although Foden kept Hebburn in it.

The equaliser came on 68 minutes as Potter’s corner on the right was hooked off the line by Chris Howarth, however substitute Carl Taylor smashed home from close-range.

Tadcaster's decider followed as Donaghy hacked down Chimalilo in the area, receiving red in the process, while Ferguson converted the spot kick.

Hebburn pressed in the final stages and Potter almost converted in the final touch of the game from the edge of the box, but Fisk's fingertips ensured a Tadcaster win.
