A late Warrington winner sent the step three side into the first round proper of The Isuzu FA Trophy.

It was a slow start from both teams - the first real opportunity of the game came from Bohan Dixon who fired in a cross which just evaded everyone in the box.

After some well worked play on the left hand side, Olly Martin's corner just went over the head of Robbie Spence for Hebburn.

Martin unleashed a dangerous strike from just outside the box which curled just wide of the post, before a long range effort from Spence was comfortably held by Tony Thompson.

Liam Henderson fired a strong shot towards goal on the 24th minute which was palmed away by Tony Thompson.

A mazy run from Matthew Mcdonald resulted in a good save from Shaun Newbrook, and the following corner came to nothing.

On the stroke of half time, Spence won a loose header which Tony Thompson managed to scramble away from goal.

Not long after the restart, Henderson was brought down by Evan Gumbs and a penalty was given for Hebburn.

Martin fired a powerful shot into the bottom right leaving Tony Thompson with no chance.

Just 15 minutes later, Josh Amis equalised for the visitors after he connected with a loose ball inside the box from a free-kick.

In the 88th minute, Warrington won it with a penalty from Sean Williams who calmly slotted into the bottom corner after Tom Devitt's foul.

A strong display from Hebburn wasn't quite enough to defeat Warrington, however there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
