New Junior Role Appointments

Jimmy Molloy20 Aug 2023 - 18:00

Juniors Club appoints 3 new roles as it looks to the future

The Juniors would like to announce the appointment of three new critical roles as we look to continue to develop and improve what we offer to everyone involved with the club.

Head of Coach Development

The club are delighted to announce Jimmy Molloy as the new Head of Coach Development. This is a key role within the club, and it will have a key influence on the Executive Committee of Hebburn Town Juniors. Ultimately this role will look to develop the coaches within the club through working with them both directly and indirectly as well as working with the FA to offer courses and development that will ultimately result in superior coaching for all of our players.

Jimmy has been a key part of the club for a long time. He first helped at Tots when his daughter started going but didn't join properly until about 2017 when he started helping his sons’ team out. In that time, he has gone on to manage the team who are now U16 Juniors. On top of that he has helped with Wildcats, Mash Up and recently inherited U10 Gold Madrid.

He is currently Level 1 qualified but has been trying to get on to the UEFA C course for the last year or so without any luck yet. Jimmy attends the FA’s CPD courses and has been part of the DFA Elite Coach Development sessions, regularly attend the Academy of Light with Sunderland.

Jimmy recently became part of the Executive Committee due to his role as the club’s social media officer which also includes offering his social media experience to the Women’s Just Play/First Teams and now the Reserves.

We are really looking forward to what Jimmy will bring to the role with his dedicated approach. We have already started working with DFA to bring further in house CPD accredited events to our coaches.

Head of Girls/Females
The club are delighted to announce Chris Wold as the Head of Girls/Females Section. This is a key role within the club, and it will have a key influence on the Executive Committee of Hebburn Town Juniors. Ultimately overlooking the development of girls/female football within our club and ensuring there is opportunity for every girl/female to play football within our club from Tots to Seniors.

Chris Became part of the club as a parent in 2016, when his daughter started playing at Under 11’s. In Sept 2017 he gained his Level 1 qualification after being encouraged to assist with his daughters’ team. In May 2018 he achieved his Level 1 GOALKEEPER qualification and in January 2019 he was awarded the FA Coach Mentor qualification. For the last 3 years he has been an Age Group coordinator for girls’ foundation stage teams.

Chris has vast experience within the girls/female game and has coached the girls independently since 2019/2020 through the age groups up to this seasons under 18’s. Not only this but in late 2021 Chris became part of the Just Play coaching team and coach of the recreational league teams. The Just Play Session was awarded the UK’s best Just Play Session 2022/23 Season.

Chris has also put his goalkeeping qualification to good use running sessions for junior goalkeepers for the last two years as well as doing 1-1 sessions with some of the junior and u18 goalkeepers.

This is an exciting role for Chris to undertake and we are all really keen to develop the Girls/female pathway within the club as well as overall participation.

Head of Boys/Males
The club are delighted to announce Joe Vickers as the Head of Boys/Male Section. This is a key role within the club, and it will have a key influence on the Executive Committee of Hebburn Town Juniors. Ultimately overlooking the development of boys/male football within our club and ensuring there is opportunity for every boy/male of all abilities to be able to play football within our club.

Joe started out as a coach at tots. Joe stated “Like most I turned up as a parent and then recruited/persuaded to coach by Stephen Rutherford at the clubs Xmas party. I loved coaching from the get-go and have really enjoyed all the courses I have completed. After 18 months at tots, Steve Richardson looked for cover for 2 weeks whilst he was away, and that’s how I ended up as Head of Tots - for the next 3 years!! “

He went on to say, “I loved my time at tots, and I still think it’s the most rewarding age group in the club. Seeing a kid score their first ever goal at tots is better than any trophy! During my time at tots my son Patrick & daughter Lucy both graduated into teams, which I coached, and unfortunately, I just didn’t have the time to continue with tots so passed the mantel on to another dedicated coach.”

Joe also took over the role as organiser/host of events, which included some very lively Xmas/Halloween parties, as well as fun for the grown-ups in the shape of race nights, buzzin bingo and a few others.

Currently he is coach of the U14 Golds and U12 Blues girls working with them since they graduated Tots.

Joe has been part of the Exec Co for several years now and has championed the Development Pyramid through supporting teams in their transitions form 5v5 to 7v7 and 7v7 to 9v9 and so on. He is passionate about developing players to be all they can be and setting the right environment for them on which to learn and grow.

This is an exciting and challenging role which Joe has taken on and we are really looking forward to the fresh approach and ideas that he will bring.

Please join us in congratulating Jimmy, Chris and Joe and wish them luck for the future within their new roles.
