Pitching In NPL Premier Division.
With Hebburn Town in 14th place in the league, and Mickleover Sports in the relegation zone at 21st place, it is clear that both teams will need to bring their A game to secure a much needed three points.
Last match day, Ilkeston town paid us a visit at the Hebburn Sports Ground, and secured a late 1-2 victory with a penalty scored by Thomas Marshall. It was a tough one to take, especially since Olly Martin scored the equaliser in the 90th minute. The Hornets are now at 7 games without a win, and they hope that they will put this spell to rest and secure a victory on Saturday.
Mickleover welcomed FC United of Manchester to their home ground, The Don Amott Arena, and both sides came away with a point each with the final score being 1-1. This was a valuable point for Mickleover, but The Sports need to win on Saturday to stay in the premier division.
The last time the two sides met was August 17th 2024 at the start of the season. Hebburn were victorious, and came home with three points following a 0-2 win.
Looking ahead of the fixture, Daniel Moore admitted that it would be a tough game as “They (Mickleover) are fighting to get out of the relegation zone.” “But, we have our own targets… and the lads will be desperate to put on a performance, and hopefully that’s on Saturday.”
