Hebburn Town vs Ilkeston Town by Adam Ingoe
The Hornets are to host Ilkeston Town at home, in what looks to be a thrilling match in which both teams will aim to consolidate three precious points.
Having just come out of an unfortunate defeat against Ashton United, The Hornets will actively look to pursue 3 points to get back into winning form.
The Visitors The blues, who sit in 6th place on the league table with 58 points will head into this game with a high stakes mindset- as they sit just 5 points behind Ashton United and will look to capture what seems to be a well contested playoff position.
Ilkeston are a side that have been largely on form, having most recently been victorious in a 2-1 thriller against Warrington Rylands, in which Blues player Daniel - with a last minute goal in the 90+5th minute - gave the blues a much needed win.
Getting into the playoffs will be the main motivation for the blues coming into this game, and will challenge hard for a victory.
Thinking Tactically:
However, in more tactical terms, the fast build up attacking style of Ilkeston Town which has become more apparent in recent games will also pose a major weakness against Hebburn.
Fast paced attacking styles that have a central fixation towards moving the ball quickly upfield often result in a more pronounced exposure in defence, fatigued players and frequent loss of possession.
The Hornets are put into an advantageous position in this case, and will be able to seamlessly deal with this challenge.
The Hornets are particularly good at getting the ball forward (as seen in recent games) by utilising a long ball attacking strategy – which takes full advantage of this gap, and will undoubtedly pose a multitude of problems for the visitors.
