Saturday sees the last fixture of the season for both Basford United and Hebburn Town. Basford will be relegated, whilst Hebburn currently sit at 15th place in the league with 51 points.
The home side recently faced defeat against Worksop Town at the Windsor Food Service Stadium, where the final score was 4-0. After what was proven to be quite a frustrating afternoon for Basford, they will undoubtedly be aiming to end their season with three points at their home ground, despite relegation.
Hebburn Town had a superb bank holiday Monday, as the final score against Stockton Town seen the Hornets take all three points. With goals from Michael Turner and Leo Robinson, the Hornets had their first win at home since New Year’s Day! In the league, 12th and 18th place are only separated by three points, meaning that Hebburn will want to finish the season in the best possible league position.
Previewing the game, the gaffer talked about how we should head into our final fixture of the season. He said that we need to “Go and get three points. If we win, we could finish 12th or 13th. Our aim was to get 50 points, which we’re at now, so we need to sustain that.”
