The Lowdown

Hebburn continued their long winning run with a 3-0 victory on the road at Grimsby Borough on Saturday, with Amar Purewal netting all three goals.

Purewal is now six goals clear of his nearest rival at the top of the NPL East goalscoring charts.

Results elsewhere went in the Hornets' favour, meaning that the gap to leaders Stockton Town now stands at five points, with Hebburn having three games in hand.

Liversedge meanwhile drew 2-2 at Consett, with Ben Ramsey putting the home side ahead early in both halves, but Eddie Church equalised twice for Sedge. Ramsey was also sent off with the score at 2-1 to Consett.

Sedge now sit in 13th place in the league.

Head-to-Head

Hebburn have not beaten Liversedge in three attempts since reaching the NPL. In their first season at step four, a Jack Donaghy goal on the stroke of half time rescued a home point after Benjamin Atkinson had put the visitors in front from the spot.

Later that season Gavin Allott and Lewis Whitham goals either side of half time secured the victory, whilst it was the same scoreline earlier this season thanks to Isaac Assenso and Simon Heslop strikes.

Pre-Match Thoughts

Hebburn Town Assistant Manager Mark Hudson said ahead of Tuesday's fixture that he feels it will be, "very tough."

Hudson continued, "they're right up there in the form table. They're a big, physical side, they throw balls in the box. It'll be a tough game, it's a really tough place to go, but confidence is high, so hopefully we'll keep it going."
