The midfielder joins the Hornets after playing over 50 games for Newton Aycliffe last season as captain.

Wood started his career at Easington Colliery, playing at Hebburn Sports Ground in Northern League Division Two, before moving to Aycliffe in 2018.

He became an instrumental part of the Aycliffe side over six years, including the 2022/23 season where they won the Northern League Division One title.

Daniel Moore has worked hard to secure Wood’s signature as Hebburn’s first addition for the 2025/26 campaign.

“I’m happy to get it sorted,” explained Wood.

“Bobby [Daniel Moore] has spoken to me a few times down the years and now it feels like the right time to take it on.

“It feels like a new challenge - the plans the club have are fantastic and it’s a really exciting opportunity.

“I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in pre-season.”
