Belper Town vs Hebburn Town
Saturday 25th November, 3pm kick-off
The Raygar Stadium
The Pitching In Northern Premier League East
The Lowdown
After two weeks without a game due to last weekends postponed meeting with Sheffield, Hebburn return to action with a top of the table clash at Belper Town looking to bounce back after losing a three-goal advantage in a 4-4 draw at Ossett United.
The Hornets had raced into a three-goal lead thanks to Dean Briggs, Robbie Spence and Amar Purewal, before four Ossett goals turned the game on its head. A late own goal salvaged a point on the road.
Belper will similarly be looking for a reaction following back-to-back defeats. After last weekend's 7-1 loss at Stockton Town, they lost out narrowly in a seven goal thriller at home to Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday night.
Kyle Davis netted a hattrick for Aycliffe inside 26 minutes, before Mason Warren pulled one back from the spot. Liam Adamson then made it 4-1 to the visitors a minute before the break.
Belper were given hope as Cameron Johnson and Kevin Bastos both reduced the arrears, however they were unable to find the leveller in the final 20 minutes.
The defeat leaves Belper third, a point behind Hebburn, having played a game more.
Head-to-Head
This fixture is the first between the two sides.
Pre-Match Thoughts
Hebburn Manager Daniel Moore reflected on the draw with Ossett United last time out, "when I've looked at the game back, I think we played really well for the majority of the game. I think if you take out the individual errors that's a good day at the office, but I don't think I've seen that many individual errors in one game."
Moore continued, "we're in good spirits. We've gone over a few things the we did really well and then some of the stuff that we can do better, but to me it was all down to the individual mistakes, which happens at this level of football, so we just have to move on."
Looking ahead to Belper, the gaffer said "we went down to watch the game [on Saturday] and they are a decent side - you could tell that in the first 10-15 minutes. You know they will put the pressure on. I know they were missing a couple of players from those that normally play, but I think looking at the game it was one of them where I think everything that could of gone for Stockton, went for Stockton. [Belper] are a good side. They are up there for a reason."
On the injury front, Moore confirmed an almost fully fit squad. "We're all good. Jack [Donaghy] is just waiting on a specialist to give some advice on what we do with him. I think it's going to be another 2-3 weeks maybe, but obviously he's training and stuff so you just need to look out for him and not try to rush him back, but hopefully we're in good health for Saturday."
