Hebburn Town FC can share that after 5 years with the club, striker & current captain Amar Purewal has decided to leave the club to play his football elsewhere in the non-league scene ahead of the 25/26 season.
A phenomenal servant over the last 5 years to the club with 178 appearances and 82 goals, Amar has been a club and league golden boot winner over the past few years and has been an integral part of the clubs success with his eye for goal across some famous games, none more so than the 2021 FA Vase Final and his 30 goal tally that helped the hornets lift the 23/24 NPL East Champions trophy, Adding to that two promotions and a Durham Challenge Cup win, his time at Hebburn has been very much a rewarding one.
Club CEO Stephen Rutherford shared “Amar is a great bloke and a cracking player who has done very well for the club during his time here. Together we have made some tremendous memories that will last a lifetime, he has been a great servant and a true professional and we thank him for his commitment and dedication to the club over the years . Although offered a new deal, Amar shared that due to reasons outside of football it was better for him to explore other opportunities that enabled him to embark on other ventures, he also shared it was a very tough decision but it has to be right for him and his family, the club understands its semi-professional football and we fully support his decision. Amar leaves with the clubs support and will be welcome back to Hebburn Sports Ground anytime, on behalf of the club I’d like to say thank you and all the best”
A true professional in the non league scene across the North East.
Everyone at the club would like to wish Amar and his family all the best with their future endeavours.
