Hebburn Town Juniors believe 3v3 is a fantastic format that will offer great development opportunities for our foundation phase players. With around an average 94% ball rolling time it’s an intense and exciting environment for players of all skills levels to keep them actively involved. Maximising ball touches in a fun and engaging environment the players will constantly find themselves in 1v1 scenarios with a variety of different opponents.

We believe this will be a great addition to our current pay as you play sessions (Tots, Mash-Up & Wildcats) and will enable more opportunities to boys & girls in the area to get involved in football.

What is 3v3 football? It’s a small sided training and game format with 3 players on each team and no goal keeper. Small goals are used and there are no positions. To maximise the amount of touches each player gets kick or dribble in’s are used.

How do the games go? All players will be mixed into teams beforehand and will play 5 games of 10 minutes across the hour. There will be no in game coaching and minimal interference from the ref’s to let the children manage the game themselves. Scores will not be recorded.

What are the benefits? 3v3 increases ball-touches, passing and scoring. The kids learn to be quick on their feet and keep the ball moving fast. This means each individual gets the opportunity to develop skills they might no in larger game formats.

Do I need to be a member of Hebburn Town Juniors? No these sessions are open to anyone, you do not need to be part of Hebburn Town Juniors to sign up and therefore these sessions are not affiliated to any of our existing teams.

Boys and Girls of all abilities are encouraged to attend.

The sessions will run in 4 week blocks on a Sunday at Hebburn Sports Ground on the MUGA at the following times –

• U7 – 10-11
• U8 – 11-12

The cost per session will be £4.50.
